Message from President

Dr. Sadia Saeed

Obesity is not just a health challenge; it is a growing crisis that affects millions of lives in Pakistan. Over the past few years, research has focused on the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the accumulation of body fat and the resulting obesity. However, research alone is not enough. We need action.

Recent studies indicate that obesity in Pakistan is a direct or indirect cause of many deaths and contributes to years lost to life. The situation is further complicated by the high rate of consanguinity in the country, which increases the prevalence of obesity. This makes early detection and intervention more urgent than ever.

At TOSP, we are dedicated to bridging science with real-life solutions—raising awareness, supporting individuals, and driving impactful research to address obesity at its roots. Our goal is to educate young minds, empower communities, and influence policies that foster a healthier Pakistan for future generations.

Together, through knowledge, innovation, and collaboration, we can combat obesity and transform lives. I invite you all to join us in this mission because a healthier Pakistan starts with all of us.
